Oman, Iran agree on airport and aviation expansion

An agreement was reached between Kish Airlines and the Oman Holding to improve and widen airport services cooperation. Iranian airline caretaker, Farzaneh Sharafbafi travelled to Oman for discussions and agreed to further their partnership and assistance in the airport to ease and better the tourists’ experience in the two countries.

Another meeting took place between Sharafbafi and Iran's Ambassador to Muscat Mohammad Reza Nouri Shahroud, with the two parties looking into ways to enhance the air transportation partnership between Oman and Iran.

Aviation was described as having a vital position to progress political, cultural and trade relations between Iran and Oman, by the Iranian ambassador. He also emphasised on the new means that must be worked on to better the services provided. The meeting led to a conclusion to evaluate new flight routes from Kish Air Airport's Business and Airport Services Department to give Kish Airline passengers a better experience when flying with their airline.

The Omani airline ‘SalamAir’ recently launched a new route from Tehran to Muscat, following the previous agreement to offer direct flights from Iran’s Persian Gulf Island of Qeshm and Omani capital city.

The new flight routes are expected to add more connections between the two countries, resulting in a better partnership.
